John and I were amongst different friend groups but always had a deep respect and appreciation for one another. Despite our different backgrounds we managed to connect. Our friendship was based on sharing ideas and discussing the convergence of design and construction. Over the years the two of us worked for different construction companies in the GTA with the goal of opening our own company one day in the back of our minds.

While we became husband and wife, we came to appreciate how our skills complemented each other’s. We have the Motivation, the Determination and the Vision.

What works so well about our partnership is that we stimulate different ideas from one another; a typical right brain/left brain contrast. We play into each other’s skill set but value the others talents. Having worked together for nearly 17 years before founding WFI, we felt confident there wouldn’t be any surprises; we knew each other’s strengths and weaknesses.
